  • Standard: IEC, BS, ICEA, ASTM, DIN and other standards
  • Application: Overhead, Overhead Transmission

77.47 MCM Ames AAAC Cable Applications:

77.47 MCM Ames AAAC Cable All Aluminum Alloy Conductor is a bare conductor used for overhead transmission as well as for primary and secondary distribution.77.47 MCM Ames AAAC Cable are used as a bare conductor cable on aerial circuits that require a larger mechanical resistance than the AAC and a better corrosion resistance than the ACSR. The sag characteristics and the strength-to-weight ratio of the AAAC conductor cable is better than both AAC and ACSR. Capable of handling extremely high voltages, this overhead transmission wire is also preferred in scenarios when heavy ampacity is needed.  This cable is most ideal for high voltage use in coastal areas, or areas with high winds or frequent storms.

77.47 MCM Ames AAAC Cable Features

high strength to weight ratio
better sag characteristics
improved electrical properties
excellent resistance to corrosion

77.47 MCM Ames AAAC Cable Standards:

ASTM B-398:  Aluminum Alloy 6201-T81 aluminum alloy conductors
ASTM B-399:  Concentric Lay stranded 6201-T81 aluminum alloy conductors

77.47 MCM Ames AAAC Cable Construction:

Conductors: 6201-T81 aluminum alloy conductors.  6201-T81 aluminum alloy is a high strength aluminum alloy for added durability and reduced sag when stranded overhead.  6201-T81 aluminum alloy is also more resistant to abrasion than 1350-H19 aluminum.
Stranding: Helically stranded.
Ampacity: Medium to high voltages.
